General Description: We are a medium-sized primary care pediatric practice in North Andover looking to expand our integrated behavioral health offerings. We seek a candidate interested in a combination of both testing and longitudinal behavioral/psychological intervention who wants to work full time at a competitive salary in a highly collaborative interdisciplinary setting.
The clinician will consult with medical staff in the practice on behavioral management, and help coordinate behavioral health referrals to services outside the practice. At West Cambridge Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine behavioral health is an integral part of our primary care services. Our primary care providers work together with our team of behavioral health clinicians to help the children and families we serve.
The successful candidate will join our clinical provider team to deliver fully integrated behavioral health services to our patients across the pediatric and adolescent age ranges. Working within our family-centered medical home, the behavioral health clinician will:
- Provide consultation and support to primary care providers and clinical staff;
- Complete flexible, brief initial evaluations and consultations to patients and families, often completed impromptu during a medical visit;
- Deliver effective, evidence-based interventions to help children and families achieve targeted behavioral goals;
- Maintain timely documentation in the practice’s electronic health record;
- Actively participate in team meetings and professional development that supports the practices’ integrated health care model;
- Assist in identifying patients at risk of developing health problems and provide creative and innovative population health interventions to meet their needs;
- Assist the primary care team to improve patients' wellness and disease self-management by developing care management processes, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education;
- Participate in a vibrate community of behavioral health clinicians working in pediatric practices across Massachusetts;
- Design and prevent educational opportunities for patients and families via group therapy, support groups, or educational presentations.
- Help evolve the practice's integration efforts by identifying problems and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Required and Preferred Experience:
- A Doctoral or master's degree in a mental health field, from an accredited graduate program, and a license for independent practice in Massachusetts (Licensed Psychologist, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) is required.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families is required.
- Experience with Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and brief, solution-focused interventions is highly desirable.
- Candidates should have a proven record of collaborative service delivery, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the flexibility and adaptability required to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, busy medical practice.
- Experience in pediatric primary care, primary care behavioral health, or other pediatric medical settings is preferred.
