Full Job Description

A prospective candidate will be able to provide and/or coordinate the delivery of various patient services under the direction of the Practice Manager.

Patient services are non-clinical in nature and include (but are not limited to):

1. Welcome and greet patients/parents/visitors to the practice in a manner that is helpful and

friendly.

2. Perform day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties including but not limited

to scheduling, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones and data entry.

3. Provide information to patients and families concerning office policy and procedures.

4. Schedule appointments for patients.

5. When scheduling appointments, carefully screen patients for new address, new patient visit or

update registration and inform patient of forms that must be presented at time of visit.

6. Comply with practice HIPPA requirements.

7. Maintain patient waiting areas, office files, and front-desk areas in a manner that is organized

and neat.

8. Verify method of payment for service (Medicare, private insurance, private payee, MassHealth, etc.) and collect data and/or payment as appropriate.

9. Exercise problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints; refer

patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel as needed.

Billing Responsibilities

1. Use Epic reports to identify patients with out standing balances and reconciling by adding insurance, collecting balance over the phone, etc…

2. Overview of Revenue Cycle Dashboard and “Self-Pay” balances.

3. Pre-scrub patient list days prior in order to identify and add insurance for patients that might be missing it for their upcoming encounter.

A strong candidate must possess:  Strong interpersonal and communication skills and have graduated with a High School diploma - or equivalent - to qualify.
